Saint Vincent College Summer Theatre is currently in rehearsals for the hit musical comedy production Leading Ladies, opening Aug. 2, directed by Greggory Brandt, the third show of the theatre’s 50th season.
This comedy, written by Ken Ludwig, follows the story of two English Shakespearean actors who find themselves down on their luck, performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on Moose Lodge circuits in Amish country. However, they soon learn of an old lady in York, Pennsylvania, who is about to die, leaving her immense fortune to her long-lost English nephews. The pair decide to pass themselves off as her relatives so that they can inherit the cash. The only problem is: these long-lost relatives turn out to be nieces, not nephews! The pair of actors decide to follow through with the plan anyway, and you can only imagine what happens next.
The cast features Jenny Malarkey as Audrey, Jack Lafferty as Leo, Gael Schaeffer as Florence, Erika Strasburg as Meg, David Cabot as Duncan, Tim Hartman as Doc, Christian Durand Müller as Butch and Cav O’Leary as Jack.
